Meet The
Founder
I’m Katherine Hammang, a graduate of FAU in Business Management, with a deep passion for developing practical solutions that enhance how people interact and engage with their surroundings. As the founder of Crowd, I focus on creating tools that give users control over their experiences, helping businesses and individuals connect in ways that are efficient, strategic, and aligned with their goals. My aim is to streamline networking and event engagement by prioritizing user choice, privacy, and real-world value.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I witnessed businesses and individuals struggling to maintain meaningful connections as closures, reduced foot traffic, and an overwhelming shift to online interactions made traditional social networking platforms insufficient. Recognizing the urgent need to restore excitement for real-world interactions, I created Crowd—not just as a social networking tool, but as a resource to help businesses and individuals reconnect authentically. Crowd was built with a mission to put control back into users’ hands, offering a filtering system that allowed individuals to curate their connections based on shared interests, goals, and values, all while prioritizing privacy and trust. Features like group chat enabled users to not only meet new people but also invite friends, while our heat map visually mapped clusters of users with similar interests, transforming networking, community growth, and business engagement. Entrepreneurs leveraged Crowd’s local and global network data to refine strategies and expand their market presence, while event hosts used AI-driven insights to enhance attendee experiences, from pre-event networking to dynamic interactions and seamless follow-ups. As the pandemic reshaped social and business interactions, Crowd evolved into a platform that empowered individuals and businesses alike to forge meaningful, real-world connections in a way that was secure, personalized, and engaging.
